Subtle Creations is the studio of Vikki Favreau — fiber artist, quilter, designer, and teacher. Every quilt is freehand quilted, one careful stitch at a time, in the colours and fabrics you choose.
Hands that have always made things.
Subtle Creations began in the mid-70s as a custom sewing studio specializing in bridal work. When Vikki returned to it years later, it was with a new passion: custom quilting. She taught herself through fearless experimentation — if she could design it on paper, she would attempt it in fabric — and along the way developed her own distinctive approach to the craft.
From bucking rivets as a young woman to sewing fine pearls onto a pristine wedding gown, Vikki's hands have always been her creative outlet. Today she is an experienced machine quilter, designer, pattern maker, teacher, seamstress, fabric dyer, and fiber artist — and she is still perfecting her skills.
She believes anything can be done if you put your mind to it, and that there are no limits to what fabric and imagination can become together.

Specialty Long Arm Quilting
Every quilt is freehand quilted on Vikki's 14-foot quilting machine — no pre-programmed patterns, ever. Starting at four cents per inch, with heirloom quilting available by request.
Original Custom Quilts
An original design created just for you, in the colours and fabrics of your choice. Vikki prefers specialty fabrics such as Hoffman Balis for the exact colour and look you desire.
Signature Quilts
Specialty signature quilts created in the colours of your choice — ideal for weddings, retirements, family reunions, and other milestone events.
Original Patterns
Patterns designed by Vikki herself, born from years of experimentation and a whole new form of quilting she created along the way.
Finishing Services
Basting with a two-week turnaround, binding on a first-come, first-served basis, and medallion work to complete your project beautifully.
Custom Dolls and Alterations
Custom-made dolls tailored to the profession or hobbies of the recipient, plus everyday alterations — hemming, taking in dresses and shirts, and more.
A note on time: because of the care Vikki dedicates to quilting each quilt right, she accepts only a limited number of quilts per year. Please contact her to find out if she is currently accepting quilts.
